What a year 2023 was, a lot has happened. I opened up a new company exclusively for Event Consulting, and I also have a new recurring column in Canadian Special Events . My event production company Bright Ideas Event Agency had a stellar year. Check it out here!

Magazine called “Ask an Event Planner Column” – be sure to check out page 29!

Next, I had the chance to get back on the horse after some tough years caused by the pandemic. However, I am grateful as I got to push myself and reinvigorate working with new amazing clients, and experience revolutionary types of events. Some of the events I consulted on were so amazing!

Adapting to Post-Pandemic Event Planning

Transitioning from the pandemic, I navigated through limited budgets, shorter planning periods, and various supply chain and labor issues, which made planning much harder. Good thing I had the three decades of experience to make changes on the fly.

And with the new focus on in-person events, rest assured, I will be putting some magic into my events as I always do!

Wellness: A Top Priority

But let’s not neglect one of the most important things especially in a high-energy profession like mine. It’s easy to overlook mental health. So, prioritizing self-love and wellness is at the top of my list this year.

Goals and Ambitions: Looking Forward

Now, as for my yearly goals, I aim to inspire and connect on a deeper level with like-minded individuals as I launch a new event initiative throughout all of Canada. Fingers crossed!

I hope to finish my third book about event consulting, so I can share my knowledge and experience with others. In the meantime, you can subscribe to “Consultant Corner” to get some hot insights.

Anticipating the Future of Events

I am looking forward to meeting the demand for Event Consultants, seeing how AI will be a game-changer in the coming years. I know that we will all be managing budget shrinkage while meeting demands for higher ROI, and I am suggesting that we focus more on encouraging attendee connections before, during, and after events for success.

With all of this in mind, I wish you a fruitful year filled with plenty of fortune and connections. I look forward to meeting you in 2024!
